Manchester United have had a good summer transfer window. They approached it with a midfield overhaul as the top priority, and that is exactly what they delivered.
Having landed Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba, the Red Devils now boast, on paper, one of the most formidable engine rooms in the league. If it clicks, it will be scary times for opponents.
With hours remaining until transfer deadline day, there is still hope of a left-back and a striker arriving, likely on loan.
Even so, whether or not INEOS manage to pull off these stopgap deals, United go into this season stronger than before.
Brilliant Bruno Fernandes update
As good as things already look, today’s news about Bruno Fernandes crowns what has been a brilliant summer of business for the Red Devils.
As per the Daily Mail, “preliminary discussions have taken place between the club and Fernandes’ camp to tie him to a new deal at Old Trafford.”
With Bruno entering the final year of his £220,000-a-week United contract, the Red Devils find themselves in a tricky position.
However, they “are adamant that they want him to stay and will try to reach an agreement before the end of the year.”
A revolutionary 2025-26
Fresh from a prolific campaign in which he proved truly revolutionary, Fernandes set a new assists record last season.
His outstanding performances, crowned by that record, earned him a clean sweep of individual honours.
At club level, he was named Manchester United Players’ Player of the Year and the Sir Matt Busby Fans’ Player of the Year.
In the league, he claimed the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award, was named Premier League Player of the Season, and last week picked up the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award too.
Exit fears eased
Over the summer, reports emerged claiming Galatasaray and clubs from the Saudi Pro League were keen to sign him, but nothing ultimately came of those links.
In fact, United were determined to keep him, and there was no doubt he wanted to stay too, given his dream of winning the Premier League.
Now, talk of a new deal should go some way to burying fears that a rival could swoop in and snatch United’s most prized possession.

Total BS take that this has been a good summer transfer window. We signed a Chelsea bench warmer for more money than he was worth, paid the release clause of a 30 year old with no legs that no other team wanted, and bought a player we wanted last summer but had to wait for him to have a shit season before his price went down and we could afford him.
We were told we wanted players the calibre of Tchouameni, Anderson, Fernandes, Tonali, Bouaddi etc. because INEOS promised us “best in class”, but in reality we were given discount stop-gaps that will eventually either be sold for a loss or allowed to run out their contracts like all of our other mistakes that we can’t sell on.
Brilliant summer… REALLY? who’ve we got rid of that should have gone? I’ll answer that, NOBODY!
How much have we raised in sales?… next to feckall!
We still need replacements for Shaw, Mount, Maguire, Dalot, Martinez, De Light… still need to sell Rashford, Zirkzee, Ugarte… brilliant my arse!
