INEOS are struggling to sign a left-back and a backup striker for Manchester United’s first team before the transfer deadline.
But the co-owners are pretty active when it comes to offloading academy stars.
The Manchester Evening News‘ Tyrone Marshall has revealed that two more wonderkids could be set to leave before the window slams shut.
Harry Amass has been linked with a switch to Burnley in recent hours, but that is unlikely to pan out.
Amass won’t be joining Burnley
Interestingly, the Red Devils will prefer not to sell the 19-year-old, but will look to loan him out instead.
Another wonderkid who could depart temporarily is Chido Obi. The 18-year-old is yet to earn any minutes for the Under-21s this season.

This indicates that the 20-time English league champions feel his development is best served by playing senior minutes elsewhere.

“Burnley had weighed up making a move for Amass today but told that won’t be happening now. United not ruled out a permanent departure for left-back, but loan looking more likely.
“Club conscious that any exit for Amass or Chido needs to be to the right club for their development. Both have played first-team football at Manchester United,” the MEN reporter wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Michael Carrick‘s squad are in need of a left-back and a backup striker, and INEOS could have saved millions by promoting Harry Amass and Chido Obi.

Yet, United feel they are not ready for the step up in quality, and it will be interesting to see which teams they end up joining.
United fans are also waiting to see if the club can back Carrick to the hilt ahead of a challenging campaign.
