Manchester United will play their second pre-season friendly this afternoon in Norway as they line up to face Rosenborg.
The Trondheim side will not be cannon fodder. They are thirteen matches into the Norwegian League season, where they lie tenth.
Head coach Michael Carrick has put out a strong starting XI with one change: Shea Lacey comes in for Jack Fletcher.
Defence
Radek Vitek starts in goal. The back four are Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Ayden Heaven, and Luke Shaw.
Diogo Dalot, Nous Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez are on their post-World Cup holiday, while Matthijs de Ligt is still injured.
Midfield and Attack
Andrey Santos is in central midfield alongside Mason Mount. Patrick Dorgu starts on the left, with Shea Lacey on the right, Josh Zirkzee in the number 10 role and Bryan Mbeumo up front.
Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Amad, and Matheus Cunha are on holiday, while Ben Sesko is still in individual training following an injury. Manuel Ugarte is a long-term absentee after picking up an ACL injury on World Cup duty with Uruguay.
Substitutes
Dermot Mee and Tom Heaton are the substitute goalkeepers. The outfield players are Harry Amass, Dan Armer, Jayden Kamason, Toby Collyer, Dan Gore, Tyler Fletcher, Jack Fletcher, Jacob Devaney, Jim Thwaites, Chido Obi, JJ Gabriel, and Ethan Williams.
Fans have been champing at the bit to see the 15-year-old prodigy Gabriel make his debut for the senior side and are almost certain to get their wish in the second half. He replaces Ethan Wheatley in the squad after the latter put in a disappointing performance against Wrexham on Saturday.
