Manchester United full-back Noussair Mazraoui started in the weekend’s defeat to Hull City, operating at right-back. The Moroccan featured for 80 minutes before he was replaced by Diogo Dalot at the MKM Stadium.
The Red Devils failed to convince, with two defensive lapses costing them as the hosts picked up a 2-0 win. Mazraoui is coming off a decent 2026 FIFA World Cup, but he was not at his best against the Tigers.
The 28 year old’s future at Old Trafford remains up in the air at the moment. Mazraoui’s ability to operate on both flanks makes him an asset for United and has also endeared him to his suitors.
A previous report relayed by The Peoples Person suggested that AC Milan are looking to secure his services this summer. That would have seen the Moroccan reunited with his former head coach Ruben Amorim, but the transfer has failed to materialise so far.
Mazraoui’s stint with United so far
Mazraoui arrived at the Theatre of Dreams in the summer of 2024 from Bayern Munich, during the reign of former manager Erik ten Hag. Since then, the Moroccan has been an important member of the first-team squad, with his ability to carry out various roles at the back also boding well during Amorim’s reign.
Mazraoui made 49 appearances under the Portuguese head coach during his 14-month reign at Old Trafford. Following the arrival of Michael Carrick in January, the former Ajax graduate was also heavily involved, featuring in 12 of the Englishman’s 17 games in charge.
Mazraoui famously operated in the centre-back position alongside Ayden Heaven against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in April. In the absence of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez due to suspensions, the Moroccan delivered a masterclass to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win.
Mazraoui finished the campaign with 20 appearances in all competitions.

While the Moroccan remains a part of Michael Carrick’s plans for now, it now appears that an exit from the Theatre of Dreams cannot be entirely ruled out this summer.
AC Milan rekindle Mazraoui interest
According to Caught Offside, AC Milan have rekindled their interest in Mazraoui this summer. The report states: “Sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside that Milan are considering Mazraoui as they assess their defensive options before the transfer deadline, although the situation has fluctuated throughout the summer.”
“Mazraoui switched representation to Panthera during the transfer window which has indicated his intention of a move away from Old Trafford.”
“Amorim likes the defender, although Milan’s interest had cooled at that stage because another potential defensive departure had been blocked.”
Final Thoughts
United cannot afford to allow Mazraoui to leave this summer, especially with the lack of cover in the squad at the moment. If a move does materialise, the Red Devils have to ensure they properly replace the Moroccan before the window closes.

TPP view
We believe that AC Milan could be considering a move for Mazraoui as he fits Amorim’s tactics. However, United are unlikely to let the player leave so late in the window.
