Manchester United have somehow found themselves entangled in an annual transfer drama at Camp Nou yet again.
Amid their never-ending financial predicament, every summer, Barcelona try to push some of their star players out in order to make room for new additions.
Having already signed left-back Joao Cancelo, Barca are now prepared to offload Alejandro Balde, a highly rated full-back who came through the ranks at La Masia.
Alejandro Balde nearing Barcelona exit
Manchester United have been strongly linked with Alejandro Balde amid their search for a new left-back before the end of the transfer window.
Multiple reports in England have suggested United are interested in Balde but would prefer a loan deal as their prime target remains Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall.
Meanwhile, outlets in Spain appear to be more optimistic, or are perhaps pushing a certain narrative, claiming the Red Devils are determined to sign the Spaniard, who already has an offer from the Premier League giants.
According to Spanish publication SPORT, Balde is on the verge of leaving Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s decision not to include him in the matchday squad to face Elche over the weekend underlined the club’s willingness to part ways.
Alejandro Balde’s preference and Lamine Yamal’s reaction emerge
It is understood Balde’s preference was to continue at his boyhood club, but a meeting with his agent, Jorge Mendes, has led him to reconsider his stance.
United are reportedly the club that appeals to the Spain international the most, but it is stated that the Mancunians are also considering other options for the left-back role.
Meanwhile, this situation has allegedly impacted Lamine Yamal, who is thought to be unhappy about the prospect of Balde departing.
The two La Masia graduates are close friends who share a strong connection on and off the field.
