Manchester United winger Amad has been nominated for a top award.

The Ivory Coast winger has had to transition from a right wing-back under Ruben Amorim to a more attacking role under Michael Carrick over the last calendar year.
Last season he played 33 games, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
This year he started the season with a knock but has so far played seven matches, with zero goals and one assist to his name.

The 24-year-old has been in more productive form for his nation, impressing at the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup.
He scored three goals for his nation in the AFCON, scoring against Mozambique, Cameroon, and Burkina Faso.
The winger also found the back of the net twice in this summer’s World Cup against Ecuador and Norway.
As a result, the club’s official website reports, “Manchester United star Amad has been named on a 10-man shortlist for the CAF Player of the Year award. The prestigious honour for the best African footballer has only ever been won by two Ivory Coast internationals in the past – Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure.”
The site also adds, “among the other contenders for the coveted prize are current holder Achraf Hakimi, Manchester City wide man Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr.”
The winner of the accolade will be announced on the 7th of December at a ceremony in December.
The Ivorian will be in action later this month for his nation as he has been called up to the squad for a double-header against Gambia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
First, he will be needed for his club against Aston Villa on Sunday evening at Old Trafford.
