Manchester United thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 away from home, ending their Premier League campaign with a bang.

It was a glorious day out for the Red Devils, with Bruno Fernandes breaking the all-time Premier League assist record.

Patrick Dorgu’s performance and Amad’s return to form will also delight Michael Carrick, as will the fact that the visitors picked up their sixth clean sheet of 2026.

The 20-time English league champions have Senne Lammens to thank for that, with the Belgian’s arrival helping the team transform from a mid-table side fighting for Europe to a third-place finish and Champions League qualification.

Ending the season with a bang

Speaking to MUTV after the game, the United No.1 expressed his delight with the team’s performance in their final game, calling it a sign of things to come.

While the Seagulls had a lot at stake, it was almost a dead rubber for the visitors, but the way the team performed impressed the shot-stopper.

“We wanted to end the season with a bang. It was key for us to keep the momentum going and to keep the good feeling going because it is important for when the new season starts.

“Ending the season on a good note today and last week as well was crucial. The team and the manager deserve credit for keeping us in the right frame of mind even though there was nothing at stake from the game.

What a debut season for Senne Lammens

We knew we wanted to keep winning for our own confidence and to keep our trust in each other going for next season.”

Senne Lammens has already been voted as the signing of the season, and United fans will agree. From the dark days of Andre Onana in goal to the Belgium international between the sticks, it has been a sea of positive change.

“It was a positive season. When I came in, it was not the easiest moment but I tried to keep doing my job. I grew along with the team as the season progressed.

“It was a good end to the season as we finished third and got Champions League, which was always our aim. We need to keep building and growing as next year is going to be even harder. That is my next target.”

Senne Lammens lauds team’s togetherness

Senne Lammens was quick to point out that the togetherness of the squad has helped in the team’s transformation under Carrick.

“Not only the wins and the goals, but also the way we defend together. The way we take pride in keeping clean sheets is a great sign of the togetherness in the team.”

Fans will be hoping to see more of the same calmness personified from Senne Lammens once the new season starts.
