Manchester United Women stars are doing their utmost to secure a World Cup spot for their respective nations.
Tonight will provide the final round of fixtures in the European group stages before a well-earned summer break.
Lea Schuller
The Manchester United Women striker joined the club in January after leaving Bayern Munich.
The German spent seven seasons at SGS Essen before joining Bayern Munich in 2020.
She was prolific for the Bavarians, notching 103 goals in 180 appearances.
Unfortunately, she has been unable to replicate this form for Manchester United as of yet.
Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has spoken about how his team needs to find Schuller more in the box and hopes it is something they can improve upon next season.
Schuller has only found the back of the net twice in 18 matches for the Red Devils and has been in and out of the starting line-up.
The forward did do well in the Women’s Sevens tournament, though, at the end of last month, scoring two goals, including one in the final against Chelsea.
International joy
Schuller has also enjoyed a fantastic career for her national team, Germany.
She has bagged 56 goals in 87 caps for Die Mannschaft. This has included two goals in the current qualifying campaign against Slovenia and Austria.
The club’s website reports that, “Lea Schuller helped Germany become the first European nation to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, as Christian Wuck’s side beat Norway 2-0 on Friday.”
The Germans will travel to face Slovenia in their final group game and Schuller will be keen to add to her international tally.
