Manchester United are plotting to sign Liverpool wonderkid Isaac Konde, according to a well-placed source.

Wing Wizard

Konde, 16, is a highly rated winger, considered one of the most exciting prospects currently on the books at Anfield.

The English youth international operates primarily off the left, but can play on the opposite flank or more centrally, and possesses electric pace and dizzying dribbling.

It is a mark of the regard in which Liverpool’s academy staff hold the youngster that he is already playing for the under-18s side, despite only turning 16 early last season.

This impressive rise through the ranks on Merseyside has caught the attention of scouts from Old Trafford, however, with United understood to have initiated talks to bring him to Manchester.

The Secret Scout, an excellent source for academy updates, reveals the Red Devils are “exploring a move to sign” Konde after he emerged as a “key target”.

Contacts between the Mancunian club and the player’s camp, Unique Sports Group, have “already taken place”.

Fellow attacker Vincent Joseph is also in the crosshairs as United aim to strike a joint raid on their arch-rivals in the North West – a continuation of an aggressive new policy in M16.

Short-term and long-term planning

Since INEOS took the helm in 2024, they have spent the best part of half a billion on revamping the first team – but they are not limiting their attention in the market solely to the senior level.

A host of top talents from across the globe have been signed over the past two years, such as Sekou Kone from Malian side Guidars FC and Paraguayan starlet Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño.

However, if United’s hierarchy spot an outstanding youngster at a direct rival – such as Konde – they will not hesitate to strike. Just ask Arsenal.

Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven were captured from the Gunners six months apart, with the Danish striker thriving for the under-18s and the English centre-back already a part of Michael Carrick’s squad.

If INEOS can pull off the same trick to bring Konde and Vincent to the Theatre of Dreams, it could prove an even better – and more satisfying – double swoop than the one on the Emirates.
