Manchester United have begun loaning out numerous youngsters this summer in preparation for the new season.
Sekou Kone
The Red Devils will inevitably loan out many more players over the last two weeks of the summer transfer window, but one player who is already settled at a new club is Sekou Kone.
The Malian joined Manchester United in 2024 and spent the second half of the 2025/2026 season with Lausanne-Sport.
He endured a frustrating time with injury last season, but he has started much better this season.
First goal
The young midfielder was impressive last time out versus Young Boys, securing a 2-2 draw with an assist.
The African midfielder played a wonderful pass through to create his side’s first goal in the Swiss Cup match versus FC Kosova Neuchâtel.
His pass cut through the opposition’s defence from deep and set up Florent Mollet, who collected the ball and placed it into the corner of the net.
Better was still to come for Kone, as he scored his first senior goal.
He collected the ball outside the box and unleashed a fierce drive into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance.
The midfielder also showed some nice touches in the middle of the park as he evaded the opposition’s defence and demonstrated his passing range nicely.
Kone will certainly face tougher challenges than FC Kosova Neuchâtel, but you can only beat what is in front of you and he did a stunning job.
The club will also be pleased to see if he can add goals as a regular feature of his game and will have been impressed by the outstanding technique needed to pull off such a goal.
