Manchester United could secure their “dream” midfield target, with Real Madrid reportedly considering making significant changes.
Fabrizio Romano has previously stated that Aurelien Tchouameni is the “dream target” for the Red Devils. However, due to his stature and performances in the Spanish capital, persuading Real to let him go had been considered an uphill task until very recently.
However, Jose Mourinho’s arrival may assist his former club in acquiring their ideal replacement for Casemiro.
Tchouameni could be forced to leave Real Madrid amid “strong” United interest
It is understood that Jose Mourinho has different plans for his midfield at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese manager keen on bringing in players such as Enzo Fernandez and Mateus Fernandes.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are searching for an imposing presence in deep areas to replace Casemiro. The 6’2″ France international, who succeeded the Brazilian at Real after moving from AS Monaco in 2022, is viewed as a perfect successor to him at Old Trafford as well.
According to Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, Real Madrid are contemplating selling Aurelien Tchouameni.
The 26-year-old Frenchman reportedly wishes to stay, but Los Blancos have different plans.

If he becomes available, United have reportedly expressed “strong interest” to his agents.
Tchouameni was involved in a much-discussed training ground altercation with Federico Valverde last season. A separate report from AS highlighted that, between the Frenchman and the Uruguayan, figures at Real want to keep hold of the latter.

However, Tchouameni‘s future may depend on whether Real sign a new midfielder.
In their pursuit of Fernandes, United are thought to be the Spanish giants’ “main obstacle”. The Premier League side are reportedly making a “strong push” to sign the West Ham star.
West Ham are allegedly demanding €80 million (£69.2m) for the technically gifted midfielder, who has already agreed personal terms to move to Old Trafford.
It appears INEOS want to sign both Fernandes and Tchouameni as part of a midfield overhaul for Michael Carrick’s side.
