Inter Miami have announced the arrival of Casemiro, who joins the club as a free agent from Manchester United.
United stint
Casemiro joined United in 2022 from Real Madrid, in a deal worth around £70m. United moved to sign the five-time Champions League winner after missing out on top target Frenkie De Jong.
Though his form at United was not always consistent, Casemiro’s legacy at Old Trafford is secure. He will be remembered affectionately by supporters for his relentless drive, dedication, and leadership qualities.
He was trusted by all the managers he played under: Erik ten Hag, Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick. Casemiro enjoyed a stunning resurgence following Carrick’s appointment as the successor to Amorim.
The Brazilian had the most prolific season of his career, netting nine Premier League goals. This led to fan calls for United to extend his stay but the club made it clear a U-turn would not be forthcoming after announcing in January that he would leave at the end of the season.
Casemiro made 160 appearances for the Red Devils, tallying 26 goals and 14 assists while helping them secure an English League Cup and an FA Cup title.
Now Inter Miami have confirmed that the 34-year-old will remain under contract through the conclusion of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an extension option until June 2029.
