According to talkSPORT, the La Liga champions want as much as £38.5 million (€45million), while the 20-time English league champions prefer a loan deal with an option to buy.
It seems to be a response to the Camp Nou outfit choosing not to sign Marcus Rashford permanently despite his successful loan spell in Spain.
Interestingly, the report suggests that Old Trafford chiefs have played down the chances of a deal materialising between both parties this summer.
“Manchester United target Alejandro Balde has been valued at €45million (£38.5m) by Barcelona, talkSPORT understands. However, the Red Devils would prefer a loan deal for the left-back.
United’s preference explained
“Barca’s €45million asking price for Balde could prove a stumbling block for United, though.
“With a loan move for the 22-year-old preferred, sources at Old Trafford have played down the prospect of a deal being completed.”
If not Alejandro Balde, it remains to be seen who INEOS can bring in before the window slams shut. They certainly need bodies there, especially if Harry Amass also leaves.
Other targets include David Raum and Joaquin Seys, while United are expected to return for Hall next summer. This explains why the club are refusing to spend big on a backup option.

I’m not convinced by Blade, while his is a great prospect his injury record isn’t great and I don’t think he wants to leave Barca. Also United have left it very late to get a deal done
