Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has emerged as Manchester United’s dream left-back signing.
Luke Shaw cannot be expected to play every league game next season as he did last season. Therefore, he needs a capable deputy to share the workload, particularly after Patrick Dorgu‘s role change, which saw him move up to left winger, where he is expected to continue being more impactful next season.
Obviously, some fine left-backs, like Marc Cucurella, have already been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Among them, however, Hall appears to be the man the 20-time English champions really want. In The Peoples Person’s latest update on the pursuit of the Newcastle star, it was claimed that active conversations between United and the player were already underway.
Well, the time for those conversations is now up; if United are to sign Hall, it is action time.
On Sunday evening, Fabrizio Romano dropped a transfer bombshell, revealing that a deal for Cucurella to join Real Madrid had been agreed, with the fee potentially rising to €60 million through add-ons, Los Blancos beating Ineos to that deal.
And so, with the Spaniard’s Stamford Bridge exit confirmed, and given how key he was to their squad, Chelsea will now need to replace him.
Hall might be seen as the perfect Cucurella replacement
As a result, speculation online suggests Chelsea may now be tempted to move for Hall, who reportedly wants out of Newcastle United.
Apparently, he blames Eddie Howe for missing out on England’s World Cup squad, feeling that had he been used properly, he would have made Thomas Tuchel’s selection.
That said, it is no secret that the 21-year-old was developed at the Chelsea academy and has deep roots at the west London club. Therefore, one wonders if Chelsea came for him, would he really turn down the chance to return and play a key role for his boyhood club?
Surely, then, while The Red Devils may have already laid the groundwork for this transfer, Chelsea could yet come along and shake things up.
Newcastle would welcome Chelsea’s interest
Indeed, Newcastle United, who have an ambitious £60 million asking price on their “outstanding” full-back, would relish that prospect; a bidding war would suit them perfectly, and United rarely come out on top against Chelsea in transfer battles.
Thus, if the 20-time English champions truly want Hall, the focus must be on closing this deal quickly and giving Chelsea no room for a hijack.
Ultimately, Hall at M16 could prove a masterstroke. At just 21, the club would be securing their left-back for years to come with a player who offers an elite profile highly similar to Shaw’s, combining technical ability, defensive strength, and attacking prowess in one package.

Almost everything written here is based on nonsense.
Hall is a boyhood Newcastle fan, as are all his family who are from the North East.
Local press have already said the reports seeking a move are false and he has a great relationship with Eddie Howe.
Coupled with the fact he shares an agent with Eddie Howe who is trying to push more players at Newcastle, not lose it, it is wishful thinking that he will leave.
Newcastle don’t have to sell and won’t sell any young player still developing.
Even if Mn Utd bid £65 million, I genuinely don’t see it happening, especially not to be an understudy to an ageing, has been left back.
