Manchester United have made a point of trying to enhance their midfield department this summer.

With Casemiro leaving the club to join Inter Miami and Manuel Ugarte’s serious injury, which he picked up at the World Cup, Manchester United suddenly look very light in the centre of the park.
Andrey Santos has been brought in from Chelsea and impressed in his first pre-season match for the club against Wrexham last week.
Youri Tielemans was also signed by the club from rivals Aston Villa to bring much-needed experience and creativity to the midfield.
The Red Devils are still in pursuit of a third midfield signing, with Manu Kone and Alex Scott frequently discussed as potential targets.
Warren Zaire-Emery
Another name frequently mentioned is that of Warren Zaire-Emery at Paris Saint-Germain.
It has previously been reported that Manchester United hold a strong interest in the midfielder and that he is a dream target.
As a result, the club have already made an enquiry for the player.
The 20-year-old French midfielder has made waves at Paris Saint-Germain and is one of the most talked-about midfielders of his generation.
No desire to leave
Unfortunately, their interest in the player does not seem to be reciprocated as of now.
TEAMtalk report that, “PSG have made it abundantly clear that Warren Zaire-Emery is not for sale this summer.”
What’s more, the site understands that the player also “has no intention of pushing for a move away from the Champions League winners.”
Effectively, all of England’s top clubs have shown an interest in the midfielder, as he is “regarded as one of Europe’s outstanding young midfielders.”
Nonetheless, with a contract until 2029, Paris Saint-Germain have warned all suitors that the player is simply not for sale at this point in time and remains “central” to their project.
In addition, “Zaire-Emery is happy with life at the Parc des Princes and has not expressed any desire to leave this summer.”
