Manchester United are preparing to face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Gothenburg on Saturday in their fourth pre-season tie. The Red Devils kicked off their preparations for the new season with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wrexham.
The game marked Andrey Santos’ first outing for his new side since arriving from Chelsea this summer. The Brazilian had a decent debut, but his efforts were not enough to secure a victory.
However, the Premier League giants quickly shook off that initial hiccup and bounced back against Rosenborg in their second outing, registering a 5-0 win. Santos started the game, displaying signs of a budding relationship with Mason Mount, who was outstanding in a deeper midfield role.
The duo continued their impressive form against Atletico Madrid last weekend, helping Michael Carrick’s team secure a 2-1 comeback win. Santos caught the eye once again, and is expected to start against PSG as well. However, the 22 year old will be seen in a different shirt against the Ligue 1 and European champions.
United to return to their home kit against PSG
United have confirmed that the team will wear their famous red shirt against PSG. The report states: “Manchester United will return to our home kit for this Saturday’s game against Paris Saint-Germain.”
The Red Devils sported their new blue away kit for the first time in the win over Rosenborg and continued in the same colours against Atletico Madrid. However, they did wear the red kit against Wrexham.
The 2026/27 home shirt was first worn by the first team in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in the penultimate game of last season. United also wore the same shirt in the final game of the campaign, the 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
For those who appreciate the finer details, the team paired their red shirt with white shorts and black socks during the final two Premier League games last season. However, they opted for white socks in the first pre-season game against Wrexham.
That same combination will be used against PSG, where the Red Devils will put on their famous red shirt, along with white shorts and white socks.
Will Youri Tielemans feature this weekend?
United managed a coup by securing the services of Youri Tielemans this summer. However, the Belgian is yet to make his pre-season debut for the club owing to his involvement at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tielemans joined training just ahead of the Atletico Madrid clash, but was not part of the squad against the Spanish giants. The English giants have recently hinted that the 29 year old could feature against PSG this weekend.
Fans will be eager to catch a glimpse of the player who is expected to help replace Casemiro at the Theatre of Dreams. Tielemans is already tipped to be a hit with the Red Devils and could even turn out to be the signing of the summer.

Final Thoughts
The bright red home kit has been synonymous with United’s success in the past. While the Red Devils have struggled to live up to expectations in recent years, supporters will hope the 2026/27 home kit becomes associated with a return to the club’s glory days.
