Beyond signing players who are expected to make an immediate impact, such as Bryan Mbeumo, Youri Tielemans and Matheus Cunha, Ineos have also been recruiting rising stars.
The Old Trafford chiefs aim to build the best academy in the country, one filled with some of the most exciting talents available.
That ambition has already resulted in the acquisition of young, exciting talents such as Chido Obi, Karim Cassim, David Eze and Tynan Thompson.
As the 20-time English champions look to improve and return to their former heights, it is expected that their scouts will be busy assessing who else they can bring to Old Trafford.
Reports from Germany indicate that another exciting talent has already been identified. Sky Sports Germany, as cited by Buli News, claims that the Red Devils are closely monitoring Tottenham Hotspur teenager Luca Williams-Barnett.
Luca Williams-Barnett has turned heads
The young playmaker’s brilliance has not gone unnoticed. Playing for the Under-18s, the Tottenham Hotspur prospect amassed 37 goal contributions in 32 appearances.
A step up to the Under-21s then saw him register 15 goal contributions in 12 games.
Those are remarkable figures, but watching him play quickly reveals why. He is two-footed, plays with high flair, and possesses exceptional close control and a low centre of gravity.
Surely, that is the kind of talent the Old Trafford faithful would want to see join the club at his age.
At 18, Williams-Barnett already demonstrates genuine world-class potential, and he is arguably an upgrade on JJ Gabriel in terms of how his game could translate to the Premier League.
Transfer battle and player’s desire
As Ineos consider whether to pursue the deal, they have been warned that Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested.
United must therefore decide quickly whether to proceed with the transfer, especially as Williams-Barnett reportedly wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
