Manchester United had three players in loan action on Saturday.
Sekou Kone
The young Malian had enjoyed significantly more game time this season in comparison to last while on loan at FC Lausanne-Sport.
He had even scored his first senior goal earlier in the campaign. Sadly, a straight red card in September against Lugano put his season on ice.
Kone made his return to action last week in a 4-5 thriller with FC Thun, playing 10 minutes.
The midfielder made more of an impact yesterday, playing the final 24 minutes of his side’s 1-1 draw with Grasshoppers.
Kone made two key passes and completed both his crossing attempts.
The young midfield enforcer was strong on the ball, completing 100% of his long ball attempts and 83% of his normal passes.
He also made an impression going forward, taking two shots and completing one of his two dribble attempts.
Kone also lost his only tackle attempt and won two of his three ground duels. He did not compete in any aerial battles.
He will next be in action on Sunday against Vaduz, perhaps looking to make a return to the starting line-up.
Dan Gore
The midfielder is also finding his way back to form after missing some time due to injury.
Gore returned to the starting line-up as Luton Town defeated Forest Green 2-0 in the first round of the FA Cup.
On 36 minutes, Gore’s free kick almost broke the deadlock, but it was tipped over the bar by the visitors’ keeper.
The young midfielder won the ball high up the pitch and played a lovely ball in for Jordan Clark, who made no mistake to double his side’s advantage.
Jayce Fitzgerald
The United youngster helped his side to a 2-0 away win over Bromley in the first round of the FA Cup.
