At Manchester United, there is no doubt about the key role Bruno Fernandes is going to play in Michael Carrick’s plan to take the club back to the top.
Indeed, after the revolutionary season Fernandes had last term, breaking the assist record and setting a new benchmark of 21 assists in a single Premier League campaign, more is expected from him.
Set up for success
Well, INEOS are already setting up the Portuguese midfielder to have a better league campaign by adding better options for him to partner with at the centre of the park.
Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have been brought in to bolster United’s engine room, and that is not all, as a third midfielder signing is being eyed.
United are primed to have better midfield options, ones that should surely get the best out of Fernandes and the attackers.
Interestingly, while United fans are expecting a top season from Fernandes, Galatasaray are still dreaming of stealing him from M16.
Bruno Fernandes: Dream Galatasaray signing
The Turkish giants have kept being linked with Fernandes, and while everything seems to suggest this is an impossible deal to do, they seem to think otherwise.
This has been made clear by their club president Dursun Özbek’s latest claims.
Özbek, as per Milliyet, says: “If we are going to sign someone, it should be the best. Let’s wait for Bruno Fernandes. I really want this transfer. He would be a great fit for Galatasaray.”
Galatasaray can dream
Well, Özbek is allowed to dream, as it is unlikely Fernandes leaves United for Galatasaray at this moment in time.
Not when Champions League football is back at Old Trafford, and not when United now look like they can mount a successful title challenge.
Fernandes is the one who makes this United team tick, and as long as he continues playing as he was doing last season, he will continue to be untouchable at United.

TPP view
We believe the Galatasaray president is trying to give his club’s supporters hope for his own reasons, rather than paint the picture of how things stand.
