Manchester United may have struggled to move on first-team stars, but that has certainly not been the case when it comes to their academy graduates.
The likes of Toby Collyer, Louis Jackson, James Overy, James Scanlon, and Habeeb Ogunneye have all been sold, while plenty have left on loan as well.
With just hours left for the transfer window to close, there is a chance that Gabriele Biancheri, Chido Obi, Diego Leon and Harry Amass could all leave.
The Daily Mail have a rather strange update on United’s latest academy departure. They have claimed that Under-18s striker Louie Bradbury is set to join Stoke City on a permanent basis.
Louie Bradbury set to join Stoke
Why this is unusual is because the 17-year-old only signed his first professional contract less than three weeks ago.
“One of the more surprising moves as part of the academy cull is the decision to let Under 18s striker Louie Bradbury go.
“Confidential understands the young Welshman, who only signed his first-year professional deal at Old Trafford on August 12, is joining Stoke in a permanent deal.
“Bradbury scored at the weekend in the Under 18s’ 3-0 win over Everton, but is now set for a new challenge in the Potteries.”
Louie Bradbury only recently signed a new contract
The Wales Under-19 international has already scored this season, getting on the scoresheet for Darren Fletcher‘s Under-18s against Everton.
He was on fire last season, scoring 10 times in all competitions, including twice for the Under-21s, despite being only 16 at the time.
Why United felt the need to let Louie Bradbury go despite his dazzling form is unknown. Hopefully, they will include a buyback clause as well as a hefty sell-on fee in the agreement.
As for the first team, INEOS are trying desperately to sign Louis Page from Leicester City before the transfer deadline.
United are also eyeing one of Alejandro Balde or Jorge Salinas, with Michael Carrick desperate for reinforcements at left-back following Luke Shaw’s struggles.
