His brilliance, moreover, has seen a “number of clubs across Europe have already made contact regarding El Aynaoui’s situation, believing they can offer him a significantly bigger first-team role than he currently enjoys at the Stadio Olimpico.”

Slowly becoming a man in demand, it is claimed that the Premier League is quickly emerging as his likely destination.

Earlier today, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are working on signing Sam Johnstone from Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to replace Andre Onana.

Now, a reputed source is claiming that they are set to seal the signing of a highly rated shot-stopper.

Manchester United to sign free agent Kit Margetson

According to the BBC, Wales Under-21 goalkeeper Kit Margetson is “poised to leave Swansea City for Manchester United.”

The 19-year-old is the son of Martyn Margetson, who left his role as Swansea’s head of goalkeeping at the end of last season.

Margetson joined Swansea at under-15 level. He is yet to make an appearance at first-team level for the Championship club, but he enjoyed a promising spell at Connah’s Quay Nomads in 2025-26.

In March, it emerged that United’s highly respected goalkeeping scout Tony Coton was in attendance at a Cymru Premier fixture to watch Margetson.

The 6’4″ beast ended the season with 10 clean sheets in 34 games in all competitions for Connah’s Quay.

It is understood that Swansea were in discussions to hand Margetson a new contract earlier this year, but they now expect him to depart, with United “likely to pay a compensation fee to secure his services.”

Meanwhile, The Sun claims United will likely loan Margetson to an EFL club this summer to “continue his development in senior football.”

Manchester United to finalise Cristian Orozco deal

United are also close to completing the signing of Colombian youngster Cristian Orozco.

The combative midfielder turns 18 this month. Last week, it was reported that he has travelled to England to undergo medical tests before a formal announcement of his arrival.

Manchester United have already struck an agreement with Trabzonspor to send Andre Onana on another season-long loan.

Wan-Bissaka outplays Rashford to uphold incredible World Cup stat

It has been a World Cup of record-breakers and incredible feats so far, with seemingly every nation’s superstar keen to make a huge impact.

Yesterday’s crunch match between England and DR Congo was no different, as Harry Kane scored a brace to move ahead of legendary figure Pele on the all-time World Cup scoring charts, taking his total to thirteen goals. England’s lethal finisher was not the only player on the pitch to complete an incredible feat, however.

Former Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka had a tough assignment in the match, as he was tasked with keeping Marcus Rashford out of the game. However, the DR Congo international had no trouble restricting the United winger and, in doing so, maintained an incredible personal achievement.

Underwhelming outing for Marcus Rashford

It has been a mixed bag of a summer for England international Rashford. Although he was included in England’s World Cup squad, Barcelona opted against making his loan move permanent.

To make matters worse, it was the man Barcelona opted to sign instead of Rashford, Anthony Gordon, who was given the starting spot as England’s left winger in their first group game. The former Newcastle player kept hold of the starting berth despite Rashford scoring after coming on as a substitute against Croatia.

Rashford eventually fought his way into the team and has started each of England’s last two games, although he has failed to show the best sides of his game. His crossing has often been wayward and his finishing equally poor. To compound his misery, he received no joy when facing his former teammate Wan-Bissaka, who marked Rashford out of the game with ease.

Impressive World Cup for Congo

Despite their elimination from the tournament at the hands of Thomas Tuchel’s England last night, it has been a World Cup to remember for DR Congo. Before the tournament began, they were given little to no chance of progressing through the group stage.

Yet, thanks to wondrous defensive performances from their back line, including former United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe, they managed to qualify as one of the eight best third-placed teams. Impressively, they shut out the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Portugal’s all-time record appearance holder Cristiano Ronaldo in their first group game.

As expected, West Ham United defender Wan-Bissaka was a crucial part of the team and, despite exiting the tournament with two defeats and having faced some of the best wingers in the world, he leaves the tournament holding onto an incredible feat.

An incredible achievement

Despite facing up against the likes of Rashford, Gordon and Rafael Leão, the former United defender was never dribbled past in the entire tournament.

While Wan-Bissaka has always been seen as one of the best one-on-one defenders in the Premier League, with his long legs even leading to him gaining the nickname ‘The Spider’, it is a pleasure to see the former United man showcase his talents on the world stage.

Given West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League last season, the DR Congo international will likely be hoping for a move back to England’s top tier and, on the back of his exceptional World Cup performances, he certainly deserves it.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are showing “a strong interest” in Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr.

It is understood United began the transfer window with plans to recruit a versatile forward, and Sarr is viewed internally as a player who fits that profile perfectly.

The Senegal international mainly operates on the right flank for the Eagles, but at the World Cup he impressed as a striker for his country, scoring four goals and registering an assist in North America.

Sarr played a pivotal role in Palace’s UEFA Conference League triumph, finishing the competition with nine goals and being voted the tournament’s Player of the Season.

It is claimed that his performances have not gone unnoticed at Old Trafford.

TEAMtalk reports that United have now made contact with the 28-year-old’s representatives to “register their interest and gather further information about his situation.”

Sarr moved to South London in 2024 for a fee of less than £15 million from Olympique de Marseille.

However, it is believed Palace would expect to more than triple that investment if they were to entertain offers for their explosive winger, who has three years remaining on his current contract.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s future remains a major issue for INEOS this summer. The Red Devils were hoping that an impressive loan spell at Barcelona would have helped them permanently offload their academy graduate this year.

Rashford finished last season with 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances for the Catalans, helping them win LaLiga and the Supercopa de Espana.

However, this was not enough to convince the Spanish champions to trigger the €30 million purchase option in the deal. A recent report relayed by The Peoples Person states that United have held discussions with Rashford’s entourage and are willing to reintegrate him into Michael Carrick’s pre-season squad.

However, with Rashford previously deemed surplus to requirements, it is clear that INEOS would prefer to offload him permanently this summer. As things stand, though, Rashford is set to return to Old Trafford after the 2026 World Cup, where he has been heavily involved so far.

Rashford’s World Cup so far

Rashford started the 2026 World Cup from the bench against Croatia in the opening group stage game, but managed to get on the scoresheet in the 4-2 win. That, however, was not enough to earn him a place in Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI in the 0-0 draw against Ghana in the following game, where he was a substitute once again.

With Anthony Gordon failing to impress as well, Rashford was afforded a place in the starting XI against Panama, but the United star did little of note. Tuchel, though, opted to continue with the 28 year old in the Round of 32 tie against Congo.

Unfortunately, Rashford’s struggles continued and he was replaced by Gordon in the 61st minute with England trailing 1-0. Harry Kane went on to score a late brace to secure passage to the Round of 16, where they will face Mexico.

Meanwhile, Rashford’s mixed time across the Atlantic will be a cause for concern, as it could hamper United’s chances of offloading him this summer. Club legend Nicky Butt, however, believes his countryman is good enough to play for a Premier League rival.

Arsenal urged to target United man

Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, Butt insisted that Rashford would be a good fit at the Emirates. He said: “I think it’d be a perfect fit for Marcus, Arsenal. I’d liken it to Welbeck when he went to Arsenal.”

“I think it’s a big club that they’re used to playing for and I think Marcus still has a lot (to offer), what is he, 28, 29? I think the only way he can stay at Man Utd is if they can’t get a buyer for him. But for me, if I was Arsenal I’d be signing him all day long.”

“I think Trossard is a really good squad player. I think Martinelli replace him with Rashford all day long. I think what you’re going to get what a club would get for him get him for 30 million pound in modern day football for Rashford is nothing.”

Arsenal have been linked with the Englishman earlier this summer, although a recent report suggests that he is not a priority for Mikel Arteta.

Final Thoughts

United have done business with Arsenal before, but it is unclear whether they would consider further strengthening the reigning champions. Meanwhile, Rashford reportedly has his heart set on joining Barcelona, or Bayern if a move to Camp Nou does not materialise. As such, this saga looks set to become increasingly complicated in the coming weeks.

Old Trafford: United forced into building work ahead of Champions League

Manchester United returned to the Champions League after a three-year absence.

Last season

After finishing an embarrassing 15th in the league in 2024/2025 and losing the Europa League final, United had no European football last year.

The Red Devils, under the management of Michael Carrick for half of the season, finished an impressive third in the Premier League and have returned to the Champions League for next season.

Work off the pitch

Work is certainly needed on the pitch as United have already missed out on midfield targets Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to Premier League rivals.

United do need to prepare off the pitch though, and there was the announcement last month that they have successfully purchased land to proceed with work on the new stadium.

The Red Devils have also been replacing the turf on the Old Trafford pitch to get it ready for a busy new season.

The club’s official website has also highlighted more work that the club has needed to carry out this summer.

The site reports, “Manchester United’s preparations for the new season are set to continue with an expansion of the home and away dugouts at Old Trafford.”

This is owing to the fact that new UEFA regulations passed in 2025 stipulate that stadiums “must be equipped with two team benches located either side of the halfway line, parallel to the touchline, each with seating for at least 20 people and positioned at least 4 metres from the touchline.”

The vital reason for the work is that United’s current dugout sits just 16 but they need to be ready for 20 when the Champions League music returns to Old Trafford in September.

The new design has been agreed upon and there will be 21 seats, eight at the back, seven in the middle, and six at the front.

The work began yesterday morning and will take several weeks to complete.

Marcus Rashford: Man United star flops in spite of passage to last 16

Manchester United had one player in World Cup action yesterday.

Kobbie Mainoo remained on the sidelines for England, as he is still yet to play a minute of World Cup action.

Senne Lammens was also on the bench as Belgium came back from 0-2 down to beat Senegal 3-2 and make the last 16.

Marcus Rashford was named once again in the starting line-up as England took on the Democratic Republic of Congo.

There have been reports that Rashford may be integrated back into the United first team next season after FC Barcelona refused to take up their option to sign him.

Match vs Congo

The Three Lions surprisingly fell behind after just seven minutes, and it took the English side a while to respond to the shock, but they eventually came out on top 2-1 after two goals from Harry Kane.

Rashford probably felt he had brought his side level in the first half, but his effort was excellently cleared off the line by his former teammate, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

During his 60 minutes on the pitch, he had zero key passes and failed to connect with any of his cross attempts.

He did make 100% of his passes, though, perhaps playing it too safe as England searched for an equaliser.

Rashford also had three shots on goal, but two of these were classified as big chances missed for his team.

The United forward did complete his only dribble, tackle, and aerial duel in the match.

His replacement, Anthony Gordon, set up both of Kane’s goals, so Rashford will be sweating to see if he retains his place for England’s last 16 encounter with Mexico on Monday morning BST.

Andrea Medina: Man United Women complete first summer signing

Manchester United Women have secured their first signing of the summer.

Agreement

It was reported in May that Marc Skinner’s side were interested in the signature of Atlético Madrid full-back Andrea Medina.

The Spaniard was reported to have agreed to join the club as early as the end of May on a free transfer, but the deal has only just been confirmed.

The club’s official website announced, “Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Andrea Medina has joined the club.”

The article continues, “the versatile defender, who will wear the no.6 shirt, has signed a contract until June 2029, with the option of an additional year.”

Medina has played for Atlético Madrid over the last four seasons, including three times against United last year in the Champions League.

She also won the Copa de la Reina in 2023 with Los Colchoneros. She joined up with the senior Spain squad in May after representing her national side at various youth levels.

Excitement

Speaking after the move, Medina explained her excitement to play for the Red Devils.

Medina claimed, “Manchester United has an incredible history, and I am excited to join a team that is determined to write its own chapter at one of the most important clubs in the world.”

She also explained that playing against the Red Devils last season left a mark on her. She effused, “competing against United last season showed me how strong the group is and just how much this club means to our supporters. The passion from everyone who travelled over to Madrid was unbelievable, that atmosphere stayed with me and I cannot wait to represent you every time I step onto the pitch.”

She also explained that she feels she is ready to show off her qualities in the intense English league.

With Casemiro departing, the Red Devils have been scrambling to sign the Brazilian‘s successor. While a deal for Ederson has been agreed on the former Real Madrid superstar’s recommendation, he is seen more as a market opportunity rather than as the team’s starting defensive midfielder.

INEOS had identified Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson as their primary target, but they were eventually outbid by City.
